According to information provided by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital, starting today and until January 8, 2026, the police are enhancing measures to ensure public safety in places with large gatherings of people in Bishkek.
A garrison assembly took place in Ala-Too Central Square, attended by the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, Police Colonel and Head of the City Department of Internal Affairs Azamat Toktonaliev, as well as other representatives of law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, local administrations, and district departments.
In his speech, the mayor emphasized the need to maintain law and order during festive events, noting that public safety control will be carried out jointly with the municipal inspection and other city services.
The main goals of the enhanced regime are to prevent offenses and crimes, as well as to respond promptly to possible incidents, especially in places where New Year events are held, central squares, shopping centers, and on the roads.
During the garrison assembly, the leaders communicated the tasks to the personnel, emphasizing the importance of adhering to service discipline, legality, the culture of communication with citizens, and strict compliance with official duties.
In conclusion, the City Department of Internal Affairs calls on both residents and guests of the city to maintain order and watch over their safety during the New Year holidays.
