The Guardian has published a list of New Year films, which includes Eldar Ryazanov's classic "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!". The newspaper noted that this film is an excellent choice for viewing during the holiday season.
Critic Phil Hoad specified that it refers to the original 1976 version, not the recent American remake from 2022 titled "The Irony of Fate in Hollywood," which, according to him, "many have already forgotten."

The article also emphasizes that "the path of true love is full of unexpected twists," and the main characters of the film often pick up a guitar, performing songs by Mikael Tariverdiev, which creates an atmosphere of Slavic melancholy.

In addition to "The Irony of Fate," The Guardian's list includes films such as "The Apartment," "Sunset Boulevard," Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining," "The Poseidon Adventure," the "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Strange Days," "Radio Days," "A Celebration," "Phantom Thread," "When Harry Met Sally..." by Rob Reiner, and many others.
