In the center of Bishkek, near the café at the intersection of Akhunbaeva and Shukurova streets, a poplar tree that was about fifty years old was cut down. This event sparked heated discussions among local residents, and the owners of the establishment decided to clarify the situation.

The café owners stated that the initiative to cut down the tree did not come from them, but from the city service. The cutting work was carried out by specialists from "Bishkekzelenhoz." They noted: "We did not organize or control this work. The decision to cut down was made by the municipal service. As stated in the act, the tree was deemed hazardous."

Additionally, the owners clarified that they had previously contacted "Bishkekzelenhoz" with a request to remove three trees for the arrangement of parking. However, permission for removal was granted only for one of them. "Two trees were recognized as healthy and cutting them was prohibited. Ultimately, it was decided to remove the largest tree, which, according to specialists, posed a danger," they added.

The café owners also expressed the opinion that the tree's roots could have damaged the irrigation system, providing photographic evidence of this fact.

However, residents of the surrounding houses disagree with the specialists' conclusions and believe that the poplar looked quite healthy and posed no threat. They express doubts about the appropriateness of the decision to cut it down.

The discussion of this situation continues, and residents are demanding greater transparency regarding tree removal issues in the city.
