In the school of Duyshena, located in the mountainous area of Ak-Shiyrak in the Issyk-Kul region, for the first time in history, a single student has completed her studies in the 11th grade. Turmush correspondent met with the director of the boarding school, Zamira Akideeva.

Zamira Akideeva, the head of the school, noted that the Ak-Shiyrak boarding school has a long and significant history. “Hundreds of years ago, the fight against illiteracy among the children of the mountain Kyrgyz began in this valley. Today, our school has 47 students, supervised by 17 teachers. Despite the small number of students, our educators strive to provide quality education and upbringing. We regularly hold commemorative events and open lessons. Recently, a competition dedicated to the epic of 'Manas' took place, where our students showcased their skills by reading excerpts from this work. The state nature reserve 'Sarychat-Eertash' supported the event by providing sponsorship.

This year, the school celebrated an important event — the only student, Aiperi Damirova, successfully completed the 11th grade. She has become a source of pride for the residents of the Ak-Shiyrak mountainous area, who have high hopes for her. Our school is home to creative and versatile children. We finished 2025 with excellent results and are counting on a successful continuation of our work in 2026. We have experienced mentors and young teachers,” the director added.

Ak-Shiyrak is a village located 240 kilometers from the village of Kyzyl-Suu and near the Kyrgyz-Chinese border. The region is characterized by challenging climatic conditions. The village has about 90 households.
