Zhyldyz Abdykerimova, a teacher with over 23 years of experience, works at one of the most remote schools in Kyrgyzstan.

Zhyldyz Asangulovna was born on December 29, 1965, in the village of Sary-Tologoy in the Tyup district, and currently resides in the village of Ak-Shiyrak, located in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. In 1987, she graduated from the Physics Department of the Przhevalsky State Pedagogical Institute, after which she began her career as a methodologist at the regional education institute.

In 1988, she became a kindergarten teacher in the village of Ak-Kochkor, and then, starting in 1989, she worked as a teacher at the Kirov School in the same district.

Since 2002, Zhyldyz Abdykerimova has been working at the Ak-Shiyrak boarding school. “I have lived and worked here for 23 years, and the living conditions are quite challenging. I raised three children and was honored with the title of 'Honored Citizen of the village of Ak-Shiyrak,' as well as 'Excellence in Education of the KR.' Additionally, I received several certificates from various organizations. I am proud of my students, many of whom thank me for the knowledge they have gained. There were times when we got stuck on the road for 3-5 days. We froze, and along with us in the car were hungry sheep that turned over our bags,” Abdykerimova shares her memories.

“When we got into the car, the sheep began to bite us out of hunger. I thought about letting them go into the field, but then they could freeze. Those were tough times. That’s how we made our way to Ak-Shiyrak. I had to learn to drive a car, and when we finally reached our destination, all the difficulties were forgotten, and I felt at peace. Life can be hard, and perhaps that’s why my students study diligently. Every day we check their readiness, and sometimes we ask questions up to ten times in one lesson,” the teacher recounts.

It was previously reported that a dormitory for the boarding school has been built in the village of Uch-Koshkon, which is part of the Ak-Shiyrak ayil district.

This boarding school is considered “dwarfish.” The dormitory building was in poor condition and needed repairs. Nevertheless, this institution is convenient for residents of remote villages, as it ensures the safety of children.

The village of Uch-Koshkon is located in a mountainous area and is part of the Ak-Shiyrak ayil district.

The road to the Ak-Shiyrak rural district requires overcoming nearly 300 km from the district center, including the Soook pass and the border post “Kara-Say.”

On the way, one can encounter local wildlife, such as argali and foxes. Winter here lasts more than seven months, and temperatures can drop to minus 40 degrees. The village is located at an altitude of 3820 meters above sea level, so it is advisable to undergo a medical examination before the trip to avoid health issues.

Despite the harsh climatic conditions, the residents of Ak-Shiyrak, Uch-Koshkon, Kara-Say, and the shepherds who stay in the Pikertryk area during winter claim that they are accustomed to such conditions and will never leave this beautiful region.

Animal husbandry is the main occupation of the local residents.

According to local residents, although they are few in number, their friendship can evoke envy in many. They have come from various villages in the Jeti-Oguz district.
