In an interview with AKIpress, the Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, Mirbek Mambetaliev, shared plans for the construction of new cultural facilities and the renovation of theaters in various cities and villages.

According to Mambetaliev, the K. Zhantoshev Theater located in Karakol urgently needs repairs as it is in an emergency state.

“The building consists of several blocks, and one of them has started to settle. The Seismology Institute has already confirmed its emergency condition. With the support of the president, we intend to start the construction of a new theater in 2026,” the minister noted.

He also mentioned plans for a major renovation of the theater in the village of Kochkor in the Naryn region. Although the building has a good structure, insulation of the walls was not taken into account during construction. The Ministry of Culture allocated 7 million soms to the theater in 2025 and plans to allocate about 15 million soms in 2026 for facade renovation and landscaping.

“In addition, a new philharmonic hall will be built in Manas, and a cultural center will be established in the village of Belovodskoye in the Moscow district, which will combine a library, a museum, and a hall for 300-350 seats for performances and concerts,” the minister added.
