The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the rules for deep cleaning of the beaches and the bottom of Lake Issyk-Kul using specialized equipment.

According to resolution No. 1, signed on January 13 by the Chairman of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev, from May 1 to October 1, during the swimming season, owners or tenants of recreational facilities must carry out cleaning of the beach areas and the bottom of the lake monthly, no later than the 30th day of each month, using specialized equipment according to the established schedule.

Every day, tenants and owners are also required to carry out manual cleaning of the beach area. Polluting the beaches with waste, including small litter, as well as overflowing garbage containers, is prohibited.

Non-recyclable waste, such as napkins, diapers, chip and coffee packaging, disposable tableware, and certain types of plastic, must be handed over to municipal enterprises for disposal.

Before the start and after the end of the swimming season, owners and tenants are required to carry out large-scale underwater and beach cleaning of Issyk-Kul.

To perform underwater cleaning of the lake's bottom, tenants may form associations, rent or purchase specialized equipment, and hire professional divers with the appropriate certifications.

The results of the cleaning will be checked by a special commission established by the authorized environmental protection body, which will include representatives from government agencies, the sanitary-epidemiological surveillance service, and professional divers.

All legal and physical entities, as well as state and municipal enterprises operating in the recreational areas of Lake Issyk-Kul, will be held responsible for violating the requirements of this resolution in accordance with Article 213-4 of the Code of Offenses.
