In Bishkek, the 83rd anniversary of the Leningrad blockade breakthrough will be celebrated (program)

In honor of the 83rd anniversary of the lifting of the blockade of Leningrad, a series of events are planned in Bishkek. This information was announced in a press release received by the editorial office.

The first event will take place on January 16 at 11:00 in the Victory Park named after Dair Asanov, where a rally will be held with the laying of flowers at the monument "To the Courage of Leningraders - the Nobility of Kyrgyzstanis".

During the rally, documentation will be handed over to the families of 12 Kyrgyz warriors who were previously considered missing in action. This handover will be carried out as part of the project "Return of the Name in Kyrgyzstan," the message notes.

On January 17 at 11:00, a memorial service will be held at the Holy Resurrection Cathedral (located at 497 Jibek Jolu Avenue) in memory of the fallen defenders and residents of besieged Leningrad, as well as members of the Kyrgyz Society of Leningrad Blockaders who passed away in peacetime.

A flower-laying ceremony at the monument to Anna Kutanova at the Northern Cemetery is scheduled for January 18 at 12:00. Anna Kutanova was a long-time leader of the Kyrgyz Society of Leningrad Blockaders.
