In Naryn region, they counted how much livestock was slaughtered at memorials and celebrations

In the Naryn region, efforts continue to organize traditional family celebrations and memorial rites for the deceased. As part of this activity, an analysis of the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 54, aimed at reducing unnecessary expenses, is being conducted.

According to the regional administration, the deputy representative of the president in the Naryn region, Aydana Imanalieva, held a meeting to discuss the process of implementing the decree. She emphasized the importance of continuing systematic work and noted instances of livestock slaughter exceeding the established norms.

In this regard, deputy akims and heads of ayil okmotu have been instructed to intensify explanatory work among the local population.

“Some citizens, by reducing expenses on funerals, family celebrations, and memorial rites, direct the saved funds towards improving infrastructure: road repairs, street lighting, greening, and installing benches near social facilities. These examples should be actively highlighted in the media. It is important to convey the purpose of this provision to a wide audience,” noted Aydana Imanalieva.

According to statistics for 2025, 147 heads of cattle, 913 horses, and 186 sheep were slaughtered during memorials and celebrations in the Naryn region. Additionally, 544 meetings with the population were held for explanatory work.

According to the current regulation, in the territory of the Naryn region, the slaughter of one large horned animal and one sheep is permitted during family celebrations and memorial rites for the deceased.
