In the Batken region, a citizen has been detained on charges of attempting to smuggle livestock across the border, reports the press service of the presidential representative's office.

According to information received on November 16 at 20:50, a border patrol from the Batken border detachment stopped an unknown man in the area of Mazar-Bashy, located in the village of Orto-Boz. He was attempting to drive two heads of cattle from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan.

The detainee, A. N., a man born in 1986, is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan. Currently, investigative actions are being conducted in the case.

The report also mentions that smuggling activities are affecting the increase in meat prices in the region. Therefore, by the directive of the presidential representative's office in the Batken region, an active fight against smuggling operations continues.
