The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision reports positive results from measures to protect wildlife in the Issyk-Kul region.

According to the provided data, recent years have shown an increase in the population of both animals and birds, including pheasants, whose numbers had previously declined significantly.

“The winter period is a challenging time for pheasants, as they face a shortage of natural food sources and require additional care. In this regard, the Ak-Suu District Department of the Issyk-Kul Regional Office of the Ministry has begun efforts to supplement these birds in their natural habitat. The local hunting community also supports this initiative,” the statement said.

Additionally, authorities have intensified the fight against illegal hunting and have tightened penalties for harming nature. Experts note that at present, the main threat to pheasants comes from predators, and necessary measures are being taken in this direction.

As a result of the autumn count in the Ak-Suu District, approximately 1,200 pheasants were recorded, which is a positive indicator compared to previous years. The protection of wildlife and birds will continue.
