Deputies approved a bill on the ratification of a loan agreement with the Saudi Fund, as reported by Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services Samat Janteliyev, noting that this is the second phase of the project.
The first phase, completed on December 1, 2024, included the construction of 28 schools and two kindergartens with total funding of $30 million. The loan was provided for 25 years at an interest rate of 1% per annum.
Now, the second phase of the project is planned. It also includes the construction of new schools. The loan amount is $50 million, with a term of 25 years and a grace period of five years.
As part of the project, five schools will be built in Bishkek, accommodating between 150 and 1,000 students, as well as additional buildings for existing educational institutions. Additionally, two new schools are planned to be built in the Chui region. The project is scheduled for completion by 2029, with two years allocated for construction and one year for the warranty period.
Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova asked about the presence of special conditions from the Saudi Fund, such as requirements for educational programs or religious orientation, as well as the locations of the future schools.
The Deputy Minister noted that no additional conditions were imposed.
The new educational institutions in Bishkek will be located in the following areas:
- "Birimidik-Kut" — a school for 750 students;
- "Altyn-Ordo" — for 660 students;
- "Kut" — for 750 students;
- in the village of Orto-Sai — for 660 students;
- in the "Ulan" microdistrict — for 660 students.
- to school No. 87 — for 360 students;
- to school No. 38 — for 300 students;
- to school No. 82 — for 1,000 students;
- to school No. 63 — for 360 students;
- to school No. 26 — for 300 students;
- to school No. 83 — for 650 students;
- to Maevskaya Secondary School — for 300 students.
- in the Alamudun district, village of Vasilyevka — for 275 students;
- in the Issyk-Ata district, village of Karagay-Bulak — for 150 students.
