As reported by the Russian Embassy in Bishkek, it was on this day one hundred years ago that the presidium of the XII convocation of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee (VTsIK) made the decision to transform the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region into the Kyrgyz Autonomous SSR, which became part of the RSFSR federation.

With this transformation, the territory of the Kyrgyz ASSR significantly increased, which also affected the growth of the population.

The formation of the Kyrgyz ASSR had a significant impact on the fate of the Kyrgyz people, creating a solid foundation for socio-economic and cultural development within a unified state space with Russia. Despite the challenges and contradictions of that time, the republic achieved significant successes in the economic and cultural spheres.

During this period, the foundations for the development of industry, transport, and communication were laid, while agriculture received new technologies and forms of organization. The cultural and educational level of the population significantly increased, newspapers and books began to be published in the Kyrgyz language, and the network of educational institutions expanded considerably, as noted in the report.
