The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic is working on the establishment of a national laboratory service

A working meeting was held at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health dedicated to the development of a national laboratory service concept and the improvement of medical waste management.

According to the ministry's press service, the meeting discussed steps to create a unified, effective, and sustainable laboratory diagnostic system aimed at enhancing the quality and accessibility of medical services for citizens.

The proposed model envisions the formation of a single national laboratory diagnostic framework involving both the public and private sectors, based on common requirements for quality, accountability, and management.

Participants in the meeting emphasized the need to establish an effective laboratory service management system, implement international quality standards, digital tools for monitoring and control, as well as the rational use of laboratory capacities and the enhancement of the reliability of research results.

Additionally, the discussion addressed issues related to improving medical waste management, including strengthening state control and introducing modern technologies for disinfection and disposal.

Invited experts offered their recommendations on the structure and standardization of laboratory operations, as well as on the medical waste management system.

Health Minister Kanaybek Dosmambetov noted that the development of the laboratory service and effective management of medical waste are key aspects of state health policy and play an important role in disease prevention, timely diagnosis, and the protection of public health.

As a result of the meeting, relevant departments received instructions for further improvement in these areas and the phased implementation of the planned initiatives.
