The final meeting of the city hall took place in Bishkek, dedicated to the plans for 2026.
Mayor Aibek Junushaliev reported significant successes in the field of preschool education.
Currently, over 36,000 children are enrolled in kindergartens, while about 29,000 are still waiting for their turn. In the past three years, 22 new kindergartens have been opened, and in 2026, the construction of another 10 is planned, which will help reduce the shortage of places for children.
In school education, large-scale projects are also planned: 36 educational institutions will be built and renovated. Of these, 20 schools are funded from the state budget, 12 with the support of the Saudi Development Fund, one with funds from the Russian government, and three from the local budget. These new facilities will help alleviate the overcrowding in existing schools, where the number of students currently exceeds the norms by 46,000.
In 2026, the reconstruction of the old swimming pool in the Kozhomkul Sports Complex, the construction of a hospital on Y. Fuchik Street, an ice rink, and a multifunctional sports center on Toktonaliev Street are also planned. The construction of a wrestling hall in the Maevka area continues, as well as sports facilities in Intymak. A 4-story building for the "Young Technicians Station" is being put into operation, and a reconstruction of the "Chatyr-Kul" cinema is expected. Additionally, there are plans to upgrade the infrastructure of the municipal enterprises "Tazalyk" and "Bishkekzelenstroy".
All these initiatives are aimed at developing the educational and sports infrastructure of the capital, improving the accessibility of kindergartens and educational institutions, as well as creating comfortable conditions for sports and cultural leisure for the city's residents.
