Almazbek Ashiraliev, a resident of the Jayil district in the Chui region, is passionate about collecting antique items such as mortars, cast-iron pots, and glass holders.

He shared that finding these items has not been a difficult task for him: many of them he discovered at markets, and some were gifted to him by friends and acquaintances who knew about his interests. "I learned a lot of interesting things about each of the artifacts; for example, a mortar is a tool used for grinding and crushing. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the mortar was an essential part of any household. It symbolizes overcoming difficulties and unlocking mental abilities. Interestingly, archaeologists have found mortars made by humans over 35,000 years ago," he said.

His collection also includes cast-iron pots, which remain relevant even today. A cast-iron pot is a special pot made of cast iron, ideal for cooking dishes in the oven. Food in cast-iron pots does not burn, and they are not prone to corrosion. In Kyrgyzstan, the mass production of cast-iron products began in the early 19th century.

No less interesting glass holders are also present in his collection. Tea, as an important part of the traditions of both Asian and Russian cuisine, was once prepared in large samovars and poured into glasses or bowls. The bowl is more convenient to hold and cools down faster, so to avoid burns, glass holders began to be used, which were sometimes made of gold and silver," he added.
