The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, through the veterinary service, as well as the development of livestock, pastures, and feed, has announced the launch of a project to create a geoinformation system for accounting and monitoring outbreaks of anthrax, known as the GIS "SUMO".

The main goal of this initiative is to improve epizootic surveillance and prompt response to threats of the spread of dangerous diseases among animals. The project is also aimed at digitizing the veterinary sector in the country. The responsible entity for the development of the system is the state institution "AgroSmart".

The GIS "SUMO" will function as a modern web application, providing a unified tool for visualizing, accounting, monitoring, and analytical processing of data on the veterinary and sanitary condition of the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

As part of this project, the following activities are planned:

• creation of an interactive map displaying locations of anthrax outbreaks, facilities for the disposal of biological waste, and veterinary infrastructure;
• implementation of a system for accounting veterinary and sanitary measures;
• formation of a centralized database for analysis, reporting, and decision-making;
• automatic notification of responsible services about new outbreak sites;
• integration with existing state information systems of the Kyrgyz Republic.

This system will ensure transparency in veterinary processes, enhance the effectiveness of preventive measures, and strengthen biological safety in the country.

The implementation of GIS "SUMO" will be a significant step in the development of digital tools for public administration in veterinary medicine and will provide a modern level of monitoring the epizootic situation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
