By 2030, the government plans to increase this figure to 25 percent
At the "Agrodialog" forum, Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev reported that in 2025, the volume of agricultural production reached 459.7 billion soms, which is 62.9 billion soms more than in 2024.
He also noted that the volume of products produced in the processing industry amounted to 104.7 billion soms, which exceeds the figures for 2024 by 16.2 billion soms.
The government has set an ambitious goal: to increase the level of agricultural product processing to 25 percent by 2030 and to 50 percent by 2040. Currently, this figure is only 7 percent.
"To achieve the set goals by 2030, it is necessary to launch 385 new processing enterprises, of which 75 should start operating by 2026, as well as develop agro-clusters and value-added chains," he emphasized.
Adylbek Kasymaliev also shared successes in the export of agricultural products: more than 60 types of goods have begun to be supplied to over 80 countries worldwide.
According to the Prime Minister, the National Program for Agricultural Development until 2030 outlines several key areas, including:
- increasing the volume of agricultural production by 30 percent;
- doubling the physical volume of agricultural product processing;
- reducing water losses to 15 percent;
- expanding the area of irrigated land by 15,000 hectares;
- improving water supply for 93,000 hectares of land.
"Considering the significance of water resources, 12.3 billion soms are planned to be allocated to the irrigation sector in 2026. In total, 41.1 billion soms are planned to be directed to agriculture, which is 9.6 billion more than in 2025, when funding amounted to 31.5 billion soms," he added.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to enhance the role of science and education in the agricultural sector and in the economy as a whole.
He expressed hope for a significant contribution from the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University and scientists working in this field.
