The company «Ala-Too Resort» has signed a new contract with Doppelmayr for the construction of four additional cable cars at the «Jyrgalan» resort. The signing took place between Valery Yashin, who represents the company's interests in Russia and the CIS, and Zharkynbek Maksutov, the chairman of the board of the joint-stock company.
This agreement continues the implementation of an ambitious project to create a modern ski cluster in the Issyk-Kul region. Under the previous contract signed in 2025, the construction of two main cable cars is underway, which are planned to be put into operation in May 2026.
According to the new terms, by the end of 2026, four more cable cars will be installed in Jyrgalan. As a result, by December, the total length of the cable lines will exceed 8 kilometers, and the ski trails will reach 46 kilometers.
Stages of Resort Development
Valery Yashin noted that since 2025, the team of specialists has begun the implementation of infrastructure projects and the development of a master plan for the comprehensive development of Jyrgalan.
The first stage includes not only the cable cars but also the accompanying infrastructure. In 2026, active work is planned on the mountain to create a complete range of services, so that by December, tourists can enjoy a service level comparable to the best world resorts.
Innovative Technologies and International Experience
Company representatives stated that the equipment to be installed at the resort pertains to the most modern solutions in this field.
Approximately 60% of Doppelmayr's projects are implemented in high-altitude conditions. The company operates in 96 countries around the world, and this project will be its first experience in Kyrgyzstan.
