It has been decided to implement labeling for certain types of confectionery products.
Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Prime Minister, participated in the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council held in Moscow.
The agenda included 35 issues related to key areas of integration cooperation, of which six were approved without discussion.
The main focus was on issues related to the development of integration within the Eurasian Economic Union, including aspects of digitalization, technical regulation, public procurement, and statistical cooperation.
One of the key decisions was the approval of the report on the current state and prospects for the development of the Integrated Information System of the EAEU. Participants noted the importance of this system for quality digital interaction between member states and for achieving the Union's joint objectives. The report will be submitted for consideration by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
The Council also approved the draft Program of Joint Actions for Consumer Rights Protection for 2026–2030, which includes measures to enhance the protection of citizens' rights and improve interaction between relevant agencies.
Additionally, the Program for the Development of Integration in the Field of Statistics for the same period was adopted, aimed at improving the comparability of statistical data and the methodology for collecting information at the Union level.
An important point of discussion was the amendments to the technical regulation of the Customs Union "On the Safety of Personal Protective Equipment" (TR CU 019/2011), which clarify the requirements for various protective equipment and update the terminology of the regulation.
Council members also discussed mechanisms for determining the country of origin of goods for state and municipal procurement. Work will continue on synchronizing the timelines for the entry into force of national rules and developing unified approaches for confirming the origin of software used in the industrial products of EAEU countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a decision was made to implement labeling for certain types of confectionery products. EAEU member states will be able to independently set the timelines and procedures for implementing labeling in their territories, notifying the EEC no later than six months before the start of application. This will ensure traceability of goods and protect the market from counterfeiting.
