The oncology patient contacted the Call Center Kaktus.media with alarming news that the machine designed for treating patients with a diagnosis of "skin cancer" is not functioning in Building No. 8 of the National Oncology Center.

“I am a patient with such a diagnosis, and this situation is extremely important not only for me but also for other people who are also waiting to start treatment or have faced its unexpected cessation. The doctors cannot specify the timeline for resolving the issue. In the technical department of Building 8, I was informed that the dosimeter, which measures the therapeutic dose of radiation, has broken down. Requests for spare parts have been sent to Kazakhstan, but there has been no response yet,” she said.

“As of today, it is still unclear whether the machine will be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. Patients are left without treatment, and the specialists can only throw up their hands. Who will help the people?” the patient wonders.

The director of the institution, Nurbek Bukuev, confirmed the information about the breakdown in a comment to Kaktus.media. “We are in search of the part, the tender has already been announced, and we hope that it will be delivered soon, and the machine will start functioning again,” he added.

According to Bukuev, patients have been transferred to another machine as much as possible.
