In the Issyk-Kul region, in the city of Karakol, there is a historic residential building, as reported by the city hall, according to Turmush.

This building, located at 94 Duyshieva Street, is an example of architecture associated with the active development of residential areas in the region. Currently, it is inhabited by Valentina Alexandrovna Peretokina.

The architecture of the house is a vivid example of everyday architecture of its time, having preserved a high degree of authenticity in its spatial solutions. It features yellow walls, bright blue shutters, and decorative columns on the facade. Apparently, the building was erected between 1910 and 1920 and likely served a public purpose: it could have been a school, a meeting house, a volost administration, or even a reception house for high-ranking officials from Verny (modern Almaty). According to local legends, the first lessons for Kyrgyz and Russian children were held here, as well as meetings of the village council during the early period of Soviet power. During the Soviet era, the building was often used as a club or library, where evenings were held, poetry was read, and performances were staged. It also served as a venue for celebrations and a temporary shelter for resettled families, becoming a center of public life in the area.

The architectural value of this house constitutes an important part of Karakol's cultural heritage. Symmetrical forms, classical details, and bright colors highlight the attention to detail that is now rarely found in modern constructions. Currently, the building requires protection and care, as it is a testament to an entire era and a reflection of history on the city's facade.

The building was likely constructed in the late 19th to early 20th century and represents a sample of residential architecture typical of the early to mid-20th century. It reflects the characteristics of the architectural traditions of its time and the stages of urban environment development, as well as being connected to the history of residential area formation and domestic architecture in Karakol.

The object possesses significant historical and cultural value due to the preservation of original architectural elements.

The building is included in the register of architectural monuments of regional significance. It has a protective zone where new construction that could alter the historical appearance of the area is prohibited, and approvals are required for any repair and restoration work,” the message notes.
