

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on the progress of the reconstruction of the IV phase of the Suusamyr–Talas–Taraz highway, which is being carried out without interruptions.
According to the data, work is currently underway to level and widen the road surface, relocate drainage pipes, dismantle concrete supports of power lines, and construct bridges.
More than 147 units of special equipment and 229 workers are involved in the project. Within its framework, two asphalt concrete plants, one concrete plant, and two crushing installations have already been installed and put into operation.
The length of the reconstructed section is 93 km, starting from the city of Talas and ending at the "Kichi-Kapka" border crossing point. It is expected that construction work will be completed between 2025 and 2028, and the project will have a warranty period of 5 years.
“The project includes the reconstruction of six bridges, the construction of one underground passage, as well as the creation of sidewalks and lighting in populated areas. The technical category of the road will be upgraded from category III to category II,” the statement said.
