Will Bishkek residents become participants in a similar situation?
Citizens of Osh, who recently received new apartments, are facing the necessity of paying for their housing. This was reported by the public organization "Interbilim-Osh."
According to information from the organization, last year the city administration relocated 66 families from various districts. Their homes were demolished, and as compensation, they received new living spaces.
The cost of one square meter in these apartments was 950 dollars, and now residents need to pay the difference between the price of the old and new housing. However, many Osh residents express dissatisfaction, claiming that the assessment of their previous housing was undervalued, and they do not have the means to pay the resulting amount.
The city administration reported that they are currently investigating the details of this issue.
It is worth noting that renovation is also planned in Bishkek, during which houses built during the Soviet period will be demolished, not just buildings that need to be torn down due to street expansion.
