As part of the significant project for the construction of the Barskoon–Bedel road, it is reported that active implementation is underway, as informed by the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Currently, all survey work has been completed, and the design phase is nearing completion. Necessary special equipment has already been delivered, and a concrete plant is operational.
Work is actively ongoing at the sites where the tunnels will be located.
In the first tunnel, 49 specialists and 55 units of equipment are involved. To date, 15 meters have been excavated. In the second tunnel, 13.2 meters of the main tunnel and 12 meters of the parallel adit have been completed.
The length of the road will be approximately 150 kilometers, connecting the village of Barskoon, located on the southern shore of the Issyk-Kul region, with the checkpoint "Bedel" at the border with China.
The project includes the construction of two tunnels, more than 30 bridges, including two overpasses, as well as protective engineering structures. The entire project is expected to take about five years to complete.
