According to information provided by the state institution "Kyzmat," in January 2026, there were 2,700 registered cases of death in the civil registry offices. This data is included in the report of the National Statistical Committee.

According to statistics, the mortality rate was 4.3 per 1,000 population. In comparison, in January 2025, this figure was 5 per thousand.

Among all causes of death, more than half of the cases (55 percent) are related to diseases of the circulatory system, 12 percent are due to neoplasms, 7 percent are external causes, and 6 percent are diseases of the respiratory organs.

It is important to note that cardiovascular diseases (CVD) have been the leading cause of mortality among the population of Kyrgyzstan for several years.

Doctors report that heart and vascular diseases are affecting younger individuals, and the high rates of premature mortality among the working-age population are particularly alarming. Every year, approximately 20,000 citizens aged 30 to 60 die prematurely from CVD.

A national program called "Healthy Heart" is being implemented in the country, one of the key objectives of which is to create a modern high-tech cardiovascular cluster based at the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy. Equipment has also been purchased for regional cardiology centers in Balykchy, Talas, and Naryn.

To prevent diseases at the initial level, a check-up module has been introduced, which includes eight parameters for each family: quitting smoking, proper nutrition, physical activity, measuring body mass index, monitoring blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol levels, as well as ensuring healthy sleep.
