Old New Year. How it is celebrated in different countries
In some countries, the Old New Year is celebrated on the night of January 13 to 14, which is related to the transition from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar in the early 20th century. This unofficial holiday is celebrated not only in the post-Soviet states but also in Serbia, Montenegro, Greece, Algeria, Tunisia, Switzerland, and several other countries, each of which has its unique traditions.
