According to information from the department, the incident occurred on January 4, 2026, at around 21:35. The Kadamjay District Police received a call that a car had run over a teenager on the Osh—Razakov highway, near the village of Kök-Talaa. The driver did not stop to provide necessary medical assistance and left the scene of the incident.
“At the moment, the fact has been registered at the Kadamjay District Police, and a preliminary investigation has been initiated. According to data obtained from the operational investigative group, an 8-year-old boy who was crossing the road from the southern side to the northern side at the 100th kilometer of the Osh—Razakov highway became a victim of a vehicle that was moving at high speed,” the statement says.
As a result of operational-search activities conducted by police officers, as well as the use of surveillance cameras, the identity of the suspect was established.
A 30-year-old man named T.Z., residing in the village of Chechme in the Birlik rural district of the Kadamjay region, has been detained and is currently in a temporary detention facility.
At this time, the teenager is in a coma, and investigative actions are ongoing.
