According to a statement from the regional police press service, on the night of January 11, 2026, a call was received at the Talas District Police Department from the Talas Regional Unified Hospital, reporting the admission of a man in serious condition, who was brought in by an ambulance crew.
On the same day, E.S., a resident of the Talas district, approached the Talas District Police Department and reported the death of his father E.Z. (born in 1968), requesting that the perpetrator be identified and measures taken in accordance with the law. His statement was registered in the electronic journal of the Talas District Police Department, which served as the basis for initiating a preliminary investigation.
During operational search activities, officers of the Talas District Police Department detained the suspect — T.B., born in 1977, who also resides in the Talas district. According to preliminary data, at the time of the incident, the suspect was drinking alcohol with the deceased at his home. During a conflict, while in a state of intoxication, he struck E.Z. on the head with a stick.
Unfortunately, the victim died in the hospital, and a forensic medical examination has now been appointed.
In connection with this incident, the Talas District Police Department has opened a criminal case against T.B. under Article 130, Part 3, Clause 1 ("Causing serious harm to health"). The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
Investigative actions are currently ongoing.
