Just four years ago, Colony No. 47 was located at 91 Malikov Street in Bishkek. Now, this territory joyfully welcomes new residents who have received the keys to their apartments built under the state mortgage program. On December 12, 1,080 families became owners of new housing — this is the second phase of occupancy for the residential complex "Muras," which includes 39 blocks and 4,754 apartments. It is expected that by the end of the year, about 2,700 more families will also receive their keys.

Some new residents shared their impressions with the editorial team of Kaktus.media.

Kanyshay Nurmatova, who flew in from Moscow, hurried to the key handover ceremony for her two-room apartment. "I waited in line for a year and a half and paid 50% of the housing cost. My family and I have been migrants living in Moscow for over 20 years, and I have four children. Now, perhaps, we will move here. I arrived at night, didn’t even have time to rest, but this is our homeland, and I am sure we will get used to it," she said.

Another new resident, Khalida Nestanbekova, excitedly showed off her new kitchen. "We have a new home for the New Year. We took the apartment, paying 50% of the cost. I am happy; I have five children, and now I can cook for them in this kitchen," she shares.

One of the women also came from Karakol, and her daughter, who works in Qatar, bought an apartment with a mortgage, paying 50% upfront. "We waited only two years. Today we are getting the keys. We have a one-room apartment, but we hope to improve our living conditions in the future. There is a school and a kindergarten here, everything we need. I am very glad that this day has finally come," she said.

The "Muras" complex offers modern amenities, including a kindergarten, a school, and parking for 2,500 vehicles. The price per square meter is $950, which is significantly lower than the market value, which usually exceeds $1,500. Of the 1,080 families that received keys, 360 became owners of one-room apartments, 432 of two-room apartments, and 288 of three-room apartments.

Currently, 80,245 mortgage apartments are under construction in the country, of which 23,748 are located in the capital.

Plans for the coming months include building more than 20,000 apartments in Bishkek and other cities such as Osh, Tokmok, Karakol, and Batken. Since the start of the state program, housing has been provided to 14,945 families.
