The opening of the event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Manas, Abdykalykov, relatives, athletes, and residents of Kara-Kul.

Eleven teams from Kara-Kul and the Toktogul Valley participated in the competition, including:

Zamanbek Boposhov, the younger brother, shared memories of his brothers, who worked for many years as energy specialists and hydro builders in Kara-Kul.

He noted that both brothers had been passionate about volleyball since childhood. Tynysh left this world at the age of 41, and Zhyrgal at 47. The initiative for the tournament was proposed by their friends, which was supported by relatives and local authorities.

After a one-year break, the tournament was revived and has been held regularly for 28 years with the support of the city administration and council.

The Boposhov brothers graduated from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute. Tynysh taught construction disciplines at the institute, worked as the Deputy Director for Capital Construction at the "Dostuk" plant, held the position of director of a state farm, and taught in Jazy-Kechu.

Zhyrgal worked at "Narynhydroenergo construction", holding positions as a site manager and concrete plant manager.
