Infantino emphasized that the exclusion of Russian footballers has not produced any positive outcomes, apart from the rise in hatred, and called on FIFA to end the practice of banning teams due to political circumstances.
When asked about the possibility of lifting the ban imposed in 2022 on Russia's participation in FIFA and UEFA tournaments, Infantino replied, "We must do this."
He added that allowing Russian children to play football in other countries in Europe would be a beneficial step.
Russian national teams and clubs have been banned from participating in international competitions since 2022 due to the situation in the country.
