The Kyrgyzstan national team will compete at the Asian Games in Japan

The Olympic football team of Kyrgyzstan (U-23) will participate in the 2026 Asian Games, which will be held in Japan.

The Summer Asian Games are scheduled from September 19 to October 4 in Nagoya and Aichi Prefecture.

This year, 32 teams will compete in the men's tournament, while in 2022, 21 teams participated in the football competition in China.

For the Kyrgyz national team, this will be their sixth appearance at the Asian Games.

The debut of Kyrgyz footballers at the Asian Games took place in 2006 in Qatar, where they reached the first round and finished 17th out of 28 teams.

In 2010 in China, the team faced failure, losing all three matches and not advancing from the group.

At the Asian Games in South Korea in 2014, the Kyrgyz managed to reach the playoffs by defeating the Iranian team, but in the Round of 16, they lost to the Jordanian team in extra time.

In 2018 in Indonesia, the team again failed to advance from the group.

At the Asian Games in 2022 in China, the Kyrgyz reached the playoffs but lost to Korea in the first match with a crushing score of 1:5.
