The Department of Tourism assessed the impact of the situation in the Middle East on the tourism market

The Department of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic reported a stable interest in the country from foreign tourists and the continuation of preparations for the new tourist season.

Traditionally, the tourist season in Kyrgyzstan begins in a month, and active work is currently underway with international partners, operators, and markets to maintain and increase the flow of tourists.

The department noted: “We continue active cooperation with international markets and tour operators aimed at maintaining and growing tourist flow. In addition, we are in dialogue with representatives of the tourism industry to quickly respond to any changes and develop alternative logistical and marketing solutions to maintain stability in the sector.”

The department also emphasizes that it is closely monitoring the international situation and its potential impact on the tourism market.

According to information received from guides and operators, there is a decrease in the number of inquiries and some cancellations of tours by tourists from Middle Eastern countries.

This, as explained by the department, is related to the unstable situation in the region and changes in air travel: in some cases, flights are canceled or adjusted, which affects travelers' plans.

Furthermore, the department noted that several Middle Eastern countries traditionally serve as major transit aviation hubs.

For example, a significant portion of routes passed through Dubai, and any changes in air logistics or increases in airfare may indirectly affect tourist flows,” the department added.
