What are the recent disputes among politicians about?
The Director of the Center for Analysis of State Policy, Almaz Tajybay, shared his opinion that it is best when disputes among politicians occur on social media rather than on the streets. In an interview with Vesti.kg, he commented on the recent disagreements between former and current government officials of the country.
“It is obvious that the real intrigue is hidden behind the words they exchange. The intrigue relates to secrecy. Most often, they discuss things that are already known to the majority of citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Much becomes clear only after they leave their positions. I believe it is beneficial when discussions occur between them. Society observes all of this. The truth, as is known, lies somewhere in the middle of their viewpoints,” noted the political scientist.
It is important that both current and former high-ranking officials are involved in such discussions whenever possible.
“One-sided opinions have their limitations. These are well-known figures who shape public opinion. Their words are quickly perceived by the population. Babanov, Isakov, Atambaev, Kulov, Tekebayev — their readers follow their statements and draw conclusions about the situation. There is also a third side that is rarely mentioned. However, there are no grounds for a serious reaction. First of all, these are just opinions. Secondly, they discuss pressing topics such as energy. It is better for such discussions to take place openly on social media than to accumulate negative emotions. People should have the opportunity to express themselves. Readers understand the situation well, as they have been living in Kyrgyzstan for over 30 years and are familiar with the issues that politicians argue about,” added Almaz Tajybay.
