The Open Joint Stock Company "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" has issued a statement refuting information circulated on social media regarding "smart" meters. The company urged citizens to rely only on official sources.

Recent rumors claim that the "smart" meter disconnects electricity when the set power limit is exceeded, and that the subscriber supposedly needs to turn on the devices again and press a button on the meter to restore electricity supply.

The OJSC "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" explained that when the permitted power is exceeded, a disconnection does indeed occur; however, after the load decreases, the meter automatically restores the electricity supply. No additional payments are required, as emphasized in the company's official statement.

It was also denied that there is a fee of 170 soms for the reconnection of electricity.

The company strongly recommends not to believe unreliable information on social media and to obtain data only from verified and official sources.
