Today, November 23, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek selected a measure of restraint for the participants in the case of mass riots.

Ten people are involved in this case, including politician Temirlan Sultanbekov, former deputy Shailoobek Atazov, member of the "Social Democrats" Ermek Ermatov, former bodyguard of Almazbek Atambayev Damir Musakeev, as well as leader of the "Social Democrats" Kadyrbek Atambaev, former deputy Kubanychbek Kadyrov, and businessman Urmat Bariktabasov (Askarbekov). The Ministry of Internal Affairs also mentioned three men, whose identities have not yet been disclosed.

According to lawyer Sergey Slesarev, Kadyrbek Atambaev will remain in custody in the pre-trial detention center until January 17, 2026. The defense plans to appeal this decision within five days.

The same measure of restraint was applied to Ermek Ermatov and Temirlan Sultanbekov. The sister of the latter, Kanykey, confirmed the information about his detention.

In addition, businessman Urmat Bariktabasov (Askarbekov) was placed in the pre-trial detention center for two months.

There is currently no information regarding measures of restraint for the other defendants in the case.

Relatives of the detainees reported that they were not allowed into the courthouse, citing the day off.

It is worth noting that on November 23, law enforcement agencies conducted a series of detentions and searches related to the case of calls for mass riots. A criminal case was initiated after the publication of a video featuring Temirlan Sultanbekov, which prompted investigative actions by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As part of the investigation, several politicians and former officials were detained or summoned for questioning, including Kadyrbek Atambaev, Shailoobek Atazov, Syimyk Japykeev, Kubanychbek Kadyrov, and others. Searches were also conducted at the homes of politicians and journalists, including former First Lady Raisa Atambayeva, relatives of Temirlan Sultanbekov, and the family of journalist Dmitry Lozhnikov.

Later, it became known that several of the aforementioned individuals—Temirlan Sultanbekov, Kadyrbek Atambaev, Shailoobek Atazov, and seven others—were placed in the temporary detention facility to determine the measure of restraint. Other participants in the interrogations, such as Adakhan Madumarov and Syimyk Japykeev, were released after conversations with investigators.
