
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the concept of sustainable development of the ecological and economic system "Issyk-Kul," which will be in effect until 2030, as well as an action plan for its implementation. The decree was signed by the Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.
According to the adopted document, not only the concept itself was approved, but also the action plan and a matrix of indicators that will be used to assess the achievement of the set objectives.
The execution of all activities within the established deadlines has been entrusted to ministries, agencies, the National Academy of Sciences, the presidential representatives in the Issyk-Kul region, as well as local state administrations and the mayors of Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, and Balykchy.
The main goal of this concept is to protect Lake Issyk-Kul and the biosphere territory of the region from the negative impact of anthropogenic and technogenic factors, as well as to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the quality of life of the local population.
