In Ak-Beshim, the creation of an archaeological park was proposed

On December 18, 2025, Deputy Minister of Culture Askarala Madaminov held a meeting with Kazuya Yamauti, a professor of archaeology from Teikyo University (Japan), and Yoji Sakakibara, an expert from the Japanese organization JICA, who is working in Kyrgyzstan.

During this meeting, archaeological research being conducted at the site of the Ak-Beshim settlement (Suyab) in the Chui region with the support of the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan was discussed. Kazuya Yamauti noted that there are still many unexplored areas in this region where significant archaeological discoveries could be made. Yoji Sakakibara, in turn, emphasized the importance of Ak-Beshim as a world heritage site and expressed the need to create an archaeological park in the future.

The Deputy Minister pointed out that Ak-Beshim is an important historical monument for both the Kyrgyz people and the entire world, and he noted the lack of qualified specialists in the field of archaeology. The parties agreed to cooperate in training personnel, utilizing Japan's experience. The Japanese side expressed its readiness to continue active cooperation.
