The Donkey
Once, a donkey fell into a well. The owner thought about what to do. Finally, he made a decision; he figured the donkey was old, and the well needed to be closed anyway. It simply wasn't worth the effort to pull the old donkey out. He invited all his neighbors to help him bury the well. Everyone eagerly took up shovels and began to dig and throw dirt into the well.
The donkey realized what was happening and began to make a terrible noise.
But soon, to everyone’s surprise, he fell silent.
After a few shovelfuls of dirt, the owner decided to check and see how things were down below, and he was astonished. With each clump of dirt that fell on the donkey's back, he did something completely incredible. He shook it off and stood on top of the dirt that had been thrown in.
As the owner’s neighbors continued to throw dirt into the well, each time the animal shook it off and rose to the top. Very soon, everyone saw how the donkey climbed up and jumped over the edge of the well.
In life, you may encounter a lot of dirt, and each time life will send you a new portion. But every time a clump of dirt falls, shake it off and rise to the top. That’s the only way to get out of the darkness.
The Twin Brothers
Kyrgyz and Kazakhs are twin brothers because long ago they were born of the same mother. When the brothers grew up, their parents sent one of them to the steppe to guard the borders and prevent foreign invaders, and the other to the mountains. For a long time, they were separated, missed each other, and prayed to God for each other's well-being.
God heard their prayers and turned the barren steppes into rich oil reserves, while the mountains were sprinkled with precious colored metals and stones. Since then, the Kazakhs have owned the wealth of the steppe expanses, and the Kyrgyz the wealth of the majestic mountains.
