KOKHANOV Alexander Mikhailovich
Architect. Born in 1952 in the city of Sverdlovsk.
In 1975, he graduated from the architectural faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.
From 1975 to 1980, he worked at the "Kyrgyzpromproject" institute, and from 1980 to 1984, he taught at the architectural faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute.
Since 1985, he has been working at the "FrunzeGorProject" institute as the head of the architectural group.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1978.
A. Kokhanov, after defending his diploma, joined the leading republican institute for industrial construction design — "Kyrgyzpromproject." He quickly gained experience and participated in the creation of projects and construction of the "8 Marta" weaving factory in the city of Frunze, the OKB of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR, the publishing house of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, etc. All these buildings are integrated into the living fabric of the city, which significantly complicated the architectural task. Nevertheless, all these buildings respond to the urban planning situation and are designed considering the climatic features of the construction area. They are not only convenient and economical in construction and operation but are generally original and artistically expressive.
He was awarded a diploma from the Union of Architects of the USSR in 1977 for the project of the first phase of the Publishing House of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan. For the totality of works at the 1980 competition for young architects, he was awarded a diploma of the III degree from the Union of Architects of the Kyrgyz SSR.
