ASYLBEKOV Mamit Shabdanovich
Architect. Born in 1951 in the village of Sary-Talaa, Ala-Buka district, Osh region of the Kyrgyz SSR. In 1977, he graduated from the architectural faculty of the Frunze Polytechnic Institute. He works as the chief architect of the Osh department of the "Kyrgyzkommunproject" institute.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1981.
In a relatively short period of creative activity, M. Sh. Asylbekov has created many projects and buildings. Projects such as the reconstruction of the central park in Kara-Suu and Gulcha, the project for the central square in the village of Chatkal, and others are still awaiting implementation. Since 1977, he has participated in competitions.
Of particular interest is the artistic solution of a universal store in the Silk Combine area in the city of Osh, built in 1983. Here, the features of traditional local architecture are evident, while the building is modern. The richness of the central facade with protruding volumes — cylinders, pointed elements, and deep light and shadow emphasize the character of the building, giving it modern sculptural expressiveness while also evoking associations linked to the architectural techniques and traditions of Central Asia.
