Baktygulov Dzhumadil Sapalovich (1936-2000), Doctor of Historical Sciences (1975), Professor (1978).Kyrgyz. Born in the village of Jergetal in the Jergetal district of Tajikistan. Graduated from the historical faculty of KSU (1976), and also completed his postgraduate studies there (1965). Worked as a lecturer, associate professor at KSU, deputy director of the Institute of Party History at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan, head of the department at KGNU.
Specialist in the history of Kyrgyzstan. Awarded medals of the USSR. Honored Worker of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (1991). More than 450 scientific works published, including 18 monographs, textbooks, and teaching aids.
Under his supervision, 1 doctoral and 25 candidate dissertations were defended.
