At the end of December, the factory of LLC "Dukastoms," specializing in the processing of textile waste, will begin operations in Bishkek. This was announced by the company's founder, Majitov Askhatbek, in an interview on the radio.

According to Majitov, this enterprise will become one of the first in Kyrgyzstan to engage in systematic recycling of fabric scraps and remnants. The materials obtained will be used to produce non-woven fibers, from which mats, mattresses, blankets, gloves, and other products will be created.

“Every day, about 50 tons of sewing waste are generated in Bishkek. At the initial stage, the factory will process up to 3 tons per day; however, over the next five years, we plan to increase production capacity to 20–25 tons, which will account for approximately half of the total waste generated in the capital,” he noted.

Majitov also added that the company has already signed contracts with 40 sewing workshops in Bishkek, which will allow for the regular collection of waste. This will enable the recycling of materials without burning and dumping in landfills, which, in turn, will help reduce the level of smog in the city.

At the start of operations, the factory will employ 15 people, but after the opening of the sewing workshop, it is planned to increase the staff to 50 employees.
