The new Eco Hub facility, located in the 21st khoroo of the Chingeltei district, represents a significant step in sustainable waste management.

According to information from the capital's governor's administration, the center is capable of processing up to 150 tons of sorted materials daily, which are then sent for recycling. The project, funded by the European Union, collects secondary resources, including plastic, paper, glass, and aluminum cans, which are then compacted and sent for recycling. This helps to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and promotes the implementation of circular economy principles. Currently, each district of the capital sends an average of 300 to 350 tons of waste to landfills daily. Recycling 150 tons of waste from three districts will significantly reduce the burden on landfills and help prevent soil contamination.

In addition to sorting and recycling waste, Eco Hub also plans to implement a program aimed at encouraging citizens to separate their garbage. With the help of a mobile application, residents will be able to earn points for each batch of sorted waste and submit requests for the collection of large items.
