In the Kаратал-Жапырык State Nature Reserve, planned activities for the winter feeding of wild ungulates took place from January 13 to 14. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the ministry's information, supplies of natural feed collected during the summer and autumn periods, including hay, branch feed, and salt, were distributed in specially designated areas.
These actions are aimed at improving the forage base for wild animals in winter, preserving their population, and reducing stress factors.
The reserve is home to various ungulates such as argali, kulja, mountain goat, maral, and roe deer, as well as predatory animals including wolves, snow leopards, and lynxes. "The reserve is also home to rare bird species such as the bar-headed goose, black stork, demoiselle crane, and golden eagle," the statement added.
