For many sellers, primarily operating in the clothing and textile sectors, such changes have resulted in significant financial losses. Many of them ended the season with zero profit or even losses, as they were unable to quickly pivot to other markets.
Meirim Talantbekova, who has been developing her brand on Wildberries for three years, noted: "The goods we sent at the beginning of the season only arrived in December, when demand had already decreased. Most workshops and sellers finished the season at zero or even in the negative."
In mid-November, a delegation from Wildberries visited Kyrgyzstan to clarify the new requirements for working on the platform. However, according to the entrepreneur, the problem still exists, and a solution has not been found.
“We discussed the possibility of a solution by spring, but for now, we are just waiting,” she reported.
Arnagül Bolekbayeva, a member of the Association of Marketplaces and the Association of Tailors, emphasized that there are about 27,000 sellers in Kyrgyzstan working with marketplaces, and a significant portion of them are connected specifically to Wildberries. She mentioned that the company proposed one of the solutions to the problem that could simplify the work of sellers and reduce the risks of delays.
“One of the proposed options is that Wildberries will independently export goods, the warehouse will be located in Kyrgyzstan, and the platform will ensure the export of products made in our country, with all necessary documents, acting as a tax agent,” said Arnagül Bolekbayeva. She added that this option is currently being actively considered by the platform, but specific timelines for its implementation are still unknown. “If this mechanism were to work, it would help legalize the flow of goods and avoid delays at the border,” Arnagül Bolekbayeva added.
In a comment to Kaktus.media, representatives of Wildberries stated that they are currently working on resolving the situation with Kyrgyz sellers.
“We are in the process of developing a new sales model for Kyrgyz sellers. As soon as it is ready, we will promptly inform our partners,” the company assured.
