In Russia, an active import inspection has begun, aimed at eliminating questionable goods. For the first time, Rosakkreditatsiya has suspended the validity of certificates issued by the countries of the Eurasian Union, raising doubts about the quality of toys, children's clothing, and footwear coming from Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Antonina Tsitsulina, president of the Association of Children's Goods Industry Enterprises.

According to Tsitsulina, this measure has long been overdue, as there are many low-quality children's products on the market that possess certificates issued by Kyrgyz authorities.

She emphasized that many of the supplied goods do not meet high safety standards for children. As a result, this could pose a health risk to children and exacerbate chronic diseases. All children's products must meet strict quality requirements, she added.

The expert believes that inspecting imported goods into Russia is a necessary measure.

"Unfortunately, as of today, 65 percent of children's goods in our market are imported, including products for the very young and various toys. All these goods must undergo serious safety testing. However, such inspections have not been conducted so far. Future importers should be required to undergo re-examinations in Russia," Tsitsulina noted.

Information about the goods is automatically sent to the labeling system "Honest Sign." If a certificate is found to be invalid, the goods will not be able to pass through the cash register and will be banned from sale in Russia. Since the end of November, imports from EAEU countries have been under special control, reported Olga Anokhina, head of the training customs center "Alta-Forum."

As of November 30, new requirements for documents from EAEU countries came into effect, changing the procedure for suspending declarations of conformity and certificates directly on the territory of Russia. Now, control authorities have the right to suspend these documents if facts of non-compliance with the products are found.

If the Federal Customs Service reports on goods that have not passed testing, Rosakkreditatsiya automatically blocks the corresponding certificates and declarations on the territory of Russia.

The suspension of a certificate in Russia does not prohibit the sale of goods in other EAEU countries, which, according to Russian authorities, could trigger a domino effect, as Anokhina noted.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan expressed protest against Belarus's initiative to expand the pilot project for inspecting clothing and footwear by customs authorities within established risk areas, including information on the cost, quantity, and characteristics of goods, as well as control over specific brands.
