Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic Summarizes the Results of Breeding Work

The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reports significant achievements in the breeding direction of animal husbandry supported by the state. Currently, there are 185 breeding farms operating in the country, covering key areas of the industry and contributing to the economic development of rural areas.

According to the ministry, the largest number of breeding farms is concentrated in sheep farming — 75, with a total of over 24.7 thousand sheep. Additionally, 66 farms are actively engaged in cattle breeding, with a total of 8.4 thousand heads. Horse breeding is represented by 35 farms, which house 1.7 thousand horses, while specialized farms for goat breeding and yak breeding each consist of five. Poultry farming, despite having only two major breeding enterprises, demonstrates significant scale with more than 281 thousand birds.

The ministry emphasizes that the development of breeding plays a key role in ensuring the country's food security and increasing export potential by improving the quality of both meat and dairy products. In the future, the ministry plans to continue supporting farmers and implementing modern technologies in the breeding process.
