Kyrgyzstan is counting on large projects in IT, tourism, and natural resources — Kydyrbaev

Speaking about the future of Kyrgyzstan, Uluk Kydyrbaev, head of the Secretariat of the Business Development and Investment Council, highlighted economic growth as the key goal of the country. He made this statement at the B5+1 forum organized by the Kabar agency.

Kydyrbaev noted that to achieve the set goals, Kyrgyzstan needs investments.

“We are actively cooperating with developed countries, aiming to attract modern technologies, equipment, and capital to Kyrgyzstan. The concept of B5+1 is that for more than three decades, each Central Asian state has acted independently. However, over the past five years, we have come to the realization that if we do not work as a single region, we will simply be overlooked. Only by uniting can we attract the attention of major global companies. Therefore, the five countries of the region have decided to combine efforts and focus on common interests. Such forums have already been held in Japan, and two years ago in Almaty. Now such a meeting is taking place in Bishkek,” he added.

Kydyrbaev also noted that the main purpose of the forum is to move from discussions to concrete actions. The main message of the event is the need for joint investment attraction and active action. In this context, major companies from the USA are showing significant interest in the region, holding numerous meetings.

“This creates favorable conditions for the implementation of specific projects. Currently, we see active development of projects in the technology sector, as well as growing investor interest in the mining industry, mineral resources, IT sector, tourism, and healthcare,” concluded the head of the Secretariat.
